Loss Story:
At age 18, I started to notice
that I was not able to comb my hair parted in
the middle. The year was 1983, my senior
year in high school. At that time, this
was the style. A few years later, I
consulted with world pioneer hair transplant
surgeon (and my future trainor) Dr C.P.Chambers
in Clearwater Florida. It was now 1987 and
Dr Chambers recommended that I do not have any
transplants done (plugs at the time). He
said that my donor area was to minimal for my
age and the quality of my hair was too fine.
He recommended and placed me on minoxidil, the
only non surgical treatment at the time. I
used this for years only to experience more
thinning. By the time I finished medical
school in 1991, I clearly was not a good
candidate for surgery do to the fact that my
donor area was too fine and the extent of my
balding. While Finasteride and low level
laser have both helped to keep the hair I still
have, I by far am not able to grow my hair long.
So, as you can see in my pics, I have adapted to
wearing my hair shaved. Thanks to Andre
Agassi, who I constantly am told by strangers
that I resemble amazingly (wish i could play
tennis like him although God knows I try 3 times
a week), I get away with the look.
As you can see, I was lead to
the field of Hair Restoration by personal
destiny. I have made it my life goal to
study and find treatments for hair loss.
